I know, it's only Rock&Roll

(Hat: Forever21, Jean Vest: DIY, Velvet Dress: Forever21, Necklaces: Lucky Brand)

I finally get to show you all my DIY jean vest :) I bought a jean jacket at a thrift store and cut the sleeves off to get this rocker/grunge vest. A lot cheaper than going out and buying a new one.
Tonight, the boyfriend and I are going to a friends house to hangout at their new beautiful apartment. They are always a lot of fun to hangout with and our nights are always filled with lots of laughs, so I'm looking forward to that. As for the rest of the weekend, I'm going to be doing the same usual routine...working, homework, and relaxing. So I won't be back until Monday to respond to all of your lovely comments.
So have a fun and great weekend! :) Thanks again to my newest, and loyal followers! I can't wait to see all of your new posts too after the weekend.

They Call Me Mellow Yellow

(Hat: Nine West, Shades: Ray Ban, Skinnies: Hudson, Boots: the usual...)

Something basic I like to wear. This top is another purchase from a thrift store :)
I love the cut of it..it's a little oversized which I like and it's also a little longer in the back. Kind of like the cropped tee thing...which I am also into right now. And yes...I have a hat wearing addiction. haha
I did a little thrifting today after I was done with school, and found a fabulous skirt and some crazy, cool tops. I didn't venture to very many stores because my main focus was purchasing a present for my step mom's birthday which is tomorrow!
I want to make another shout out to all my new followers and loyal followers as well :) You guys are so awesome!
Have a great rest of the week!

Bare Toes

(Thrifted Vest and Skirt)

The woods again :) With such beautiful weather...what's better than to take a nature walk?
This is my boho side of style coming out. A long floral skirt and of course a vintage, suede vest...both thrifted to help out the environment  ;) I always think that long skirts are so fun to wear..and extremely comfortable. Paired with no shoes is a perfect outfit ready for spring/summer! And if you like the bohemian style, check out the vintage, boho dress I have for sale that is absolutely perfect for summer.
Welcome to all of my new followers!! You guys all make blogging so fun for me! I love reading all of your comments and checking out your blogs as well...it's always exciting :)

A Peek Inside

1. My record collection is slowly growing! I mentioned some of the records I purchased recently...well here is my entire collection. It's somewhat small..but I am very pleased with it so far.
2. A dream catcher I made awhile back that hangs above my bed to catch those dreams of mine.
3. Pattern of my absolute favorite chair that sits in my room. I purchased the chair from a thrift store for only $12! I am addicted to rocking chairs, so having one in my room is a must.
4. The lovely crochet bralette that arrived in the mail Saturday. I won it recently in a giveaway from the very stylish Emily, and it was actually made by Meg! I can't wait to see what I can wear it with this summer.

Just a little post with a look into my life apart from fashion. And of course I couldn't forget..the winners of my first giveaway! Congrats to.....
Ngoni of NRC who won the velvet skirt and embroidered purse. I can't wait to see what she pairs the skirt with! AND...
Carlee of Paperback Writer who won the vintage top! I think she might be a bigger Beatles fan than me! ;)

Thanks everyone who entered... and stay posted for my next giveaway which will be coming soon!

Hey You! Get off of my Cloud.

(Hat: Nine West, Dress: Thrifted, Boots: Sears Stores)

Friday came so quickly thankfully! I have a busy weekend ahead of me that consists of working, hanging out with some friends, going to the casino for my step-mom's birthday, an easter dinner, and of course homework. Sometimes I like to busy for awhile, since it keeps my mind off of the little things that are useless to think about.
This is one of my favorite dresses to wear :) It's another "no thinking involved" outfit that I like to throw on..and the best thing is...I got it at a thrift store! Gotta love second hand treasures.
Yesterday, I hit the jackpot with finding records. I found a cute little shop called Time Bomb that was filled with records for super cheap! I picked up some great records including Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, CCR, America, and numerous Beatles all for $35!!! I was ecstatic let me tell you. I still am in shock at how cheap they were but it made me grin from ear to ear that's for sure. I am still on the hunt for a Rolling Stones album though...I've been craving their music lately.
With that said Have a great weekend everyone and HAPPY EASTER for those celebrating :)
Remember this is the last day to enter my giveaway!!
I will be announcing the winners sometime this weekend.

Little Miss Plain Jane

(Jimi Hat: F21, Tee: Walmart, Shorts: Vintage)

Please excuse the odd facial expressions in some of these photos. Haha.
Just something simple I like to wear to hangout with friends or boyfriend. Nothing really too exciting.
I got this Ledzep tee for only $10 at walmart! I am going to be getting more high waisted shorts this summer...since these are the ones that are a little big (as you can see in these photos).
Tomorrow I am going to the big Salvation Army..which I am very excited for. I hope to hit the jackpot, and I will without a doubt be showing off my treasures asap.
Sorry for the somewhat boring outfit...but I still like it :)

HighFlying

(Hat: Vintage, Top: TJMaxx Stores, Belt: thrifted, Shorts: Vintage, Shoes: Vintage)

My first attempt at high waisted shorts...fail.
I tried to buy them online, and like most things..they looked awesome on the model. However, when I tried them on myself...they were a little too big. I guess there's a first time for everything right? I think the next time I get some high waisted shorts, I will go to a thrift store and find some levi's and make them myself. They will still be something very fun to wear this summer, and that I am excited for.
I had a very fun weekend filled with lots of good times with friends and the boyfriend....and I think some people had a little too much fun. But now it's time to do some sunday relaxing. Today I will be going shopping with my step mom hopefully to find some new great additions to my life, and eventually I will need to catch up on my homework. I love listening to my new record player while working on school work. Listening to Bob Dylan and CSN on vinyl is a great way to end the weekend. :)

ONE WEEK LEFT TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY!!

Lost in the Wild Winds

(Jimi Hat: F21, Jimi like dress ;) : thrifted)

Jimi Hendrix inspired outfit....again! I feel bad for those of my readers who don't like Jimi Hendrix...since I am always bringing him up. I guess he really does inspire me more than I realize at times. I've seen many photos of him and so many times he would wear crazy colors and rad patterns, and that describes this dress pretty much.
I LOVE thirfty finds like this one. I got this at a Goodwill in my town, and it's one of my most comfy and fun colored dresses that is ready for the summer. I love wearing dresses like these that need very limited accessories and are basically "ready to wear". No thinking involved, just throw on some boots/sandals, a hat and maybe some leggings. That's how I like my summer clothes to be :)
And again hello to all of my new wonderful readers!! Were almost to 200! Wow..it's still hard to believe. Thank you to all of you for all the support, I really appreciate it :)
REMEMBER TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY!

BEATLEMANIA

George HAIRrison
(My new record player! With the Sgt. Peppers album in it of course)

What could be better than some Beatles??
I figured it was time to do a Beatles post, since after all that is why my blog is The Moptop ;)
I happened to find a wonderful antique shop, while I was in Montana, that was filled with original vinyls! I had a hayday and, of course, purchased the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band record. I was a little bummed that they didn't have the Let It Be album, which is my favorite, but my second favorite is almost as good. :) Also, last weekend I was searching through craigslist and I found a record player for $50!! It plays vinyl, cassettes, cds and the radio! I love it already and I can't wait to expand my record collection even more!!
I hope you all enjoy this post as much as I do, especially you Beatle fans out there!

Remember to enter my giveaway if you haven't already!!

ONtheMOON

(Jimi Hat: F21, Top: Made by Nina on the Moon, Belt: thrifted, Skirt: Free People)

This top is an item that I won in a giveaway from Nina on the Moon!
She made this top all by hand! I couldn't believe it! I am in love with the collar...how cute is that?? The pattern is absolutely perfect for me too, I love the retro feel to it. She also made a beautiful necklace and these great clip on earrings (perfect for me since my ears aren't pierced) but those will have to wait for other posts ;) I want to say another thank you to her for doing an incredible job with all of the lovely things she made for me! I love them all :)
Check out her blog at www.ninaonthemoon.com
