Electric Ladyland

I call this my Jimi dress because it reminds me of Jimi Hendrix so much. I first saw it in last month's Free People catalogue and I knew I had to own it. I love all the crazy detailing and embellishment, it's really such a statement dress. I've always been a fan of dresses with simple cuts and fits which makes me love this dress even more. To go with the Jimi Hendrix vibe of the dress, it only makes sense to pair it with my purple velvet boots! ;)
If any of you guys live in the Portland area, make sure and go to the Without Walls launch party at Urban Outfitters on NW 23rd, there's going to be a live DJ, Voodoo Donuts, and Beer (21 and older obviously)! It's this Thursday, April 3rd, from 6-9 pm...hope to see you guys there!

As of Lately

Just a few snaps from my Instagram lately! Spring has been really beautiful in Portland with all of the flowers blooming and the sun (occasionally) shining. I finished my finals up this past week which was a huge relief. Three quarters of school down! I can't believe it, time is really flying by.
Despite the beautiful days most of the time, it's been raining like crazy here so it's been difficult trying to take photos.

My dream floral pants are real.
Obsessed would be an understatement when it comes to these floral beauties. Wearing these make me wish I was headed to a music festival or a long road trip, because they were ridiculously cute and comfortable. They add the perfect amount of personality to a white tee shirt.
I've also been wearing this tank 24/7 since I got it (even to bed!). Wildfox seriously knows how to make a perfect graphic tank.
I've been loving white nail polish lately too...it seriously goes perfectly with every outfit.

I'm so happy that spring is finally here and with it has come the beautiful sunshine! Even though it's still a little too chilly for tanks and shorts, I love wearing a sweater with my shorts. The texture of this cropped top is so cool. I love the idea of cropped sweaters too, they are a great transition piece for fall to the warmer months. And I think they would be so cute over a dress.
I have a feeling I'm going to be living in these shorts this summer. The fit is perfect and I love the nautical feel of them!

Styling with Kacie & Mackenzie

Last week I hung out with bloggers Kacie of Shy Girl Loud Voice and Mackenzie of Easy, Lucky, Free! We all go to the Art Institute together and happened to be in the same styling class. These are some of the outtakes for one of our assignments! I had SO much fun taking these photos with them, it didn't seem like homework at all. And of course after the work was done we finished the day with sushi and dessert! I can't wait to hangout with these lovely ladies again. Make sure to check out their blogs!

In the Sky

I knew this dress and I were going to be soul mates the minute I laid eyes on it.
There's nothing better than a dress that is perfect for summer traveling and adventures. The length is perfect for walking around (or dancing!) and I love how it shows off my shoes. Doesn't it look like it's vintage too? It's like it came right out of the 70s. Prairie dresses are seriously what summer dream outfits are made of.

What I'm wearing- Dress: Free People, Hat: Free People, Bra: Free People, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (Similar here)

I think it's pretty easy to see that I can be pretty minimal with my style. Often times I think less is more with style. One accessory could be all that your outfit needs to make a statement. I definitely feel that is the case with this hat! I love the burnt orange color and how big it is. I feel like I belong on the prairie hanging out with some cattle in this outfit. Pairing menswear with a super feminine piece is another one of my favorite things to do, so I thought my vintage lace up boots would be perfect.
