Who says you can't wear red, white, and blue after the 4th?

I think red, white, and blue are perfect colors for the summer. It reminds me of picnics, being outside barbecuing, or being by the lake. I've had my eye on this top for quite some time, and I am so glad it's finally mine. I love the crochet back and the stripes on the sleeves. It's a mix of modern and vintage details, which is my favorite thing ever!

Lady Like

I've been getting a few requests about an outfit post I would wear on a night out or for a special occasion. Though I am not one to dress up very often, even though I wear dresses almost 24/7, I do like to dress it up a bit here and there. Just like my previous post, I am a sucker for a little black dress. It's my go-to for getting dressed up and it's so easy to accessorize! I always like to add a bit of boho/vintage flare to my outfits, and turquoise is a great way to do so. This necklace adds a little splash of color and I love the rustic look of it. I also just found this faux fur clutch and I am so obsessed!

I have been living in ankle boots lately. They go great with all of my dresses and shorts for summer!

Sorry again for the long wait for another outfit post. I have been so busy, definitely not complaining though! School has been wonderful! :)

Angel's Rest

A few snap shots from the amazing hike my boyfriend and I went on a few days ago. If you live near Portland or are ever in the area, you've got to check out Angel's Rest! I love getting outdoors and going on hikes/adventures...and even though I was a little pooped out once I got to the top, it was well worth it. The view was incredible! I plan on trying to go on a new hike every week now. It's such a stress reliever and a good way to get some exercise. If any of you live in the Northwest I would love some suggestions of great places to hike! (mostly around the Portland area) 

Now time to get some homework done! :)

Every once in awhile I do get a little more dressed up when I go out. It's usually for a special occasion but none the less sometimes I like to dress it up a bit while still staying true to my style. A little black dress is usually my go to for nights out, and I absolutely love the uniqueness of this dress from BB Dakota. The sleeves add the perfect amount of quirkiness to the dress to make it stand out from an ordinary LBD. Then to finish off a dress like this, I thought this vintage rose cape would be perfect.

It Beats For You

When I first got this dress in the mail, I didn't stop wearing it for a couple of days straight. I love the super drop back and the flowy pleats. It's the perfect mix of comfortable but still pretty at the same time. My ideal summer dress! I pretty much have fallen in love with everything on the SwayChic website too. I love discovering new clothing sites, for inspiration as well as shopping! :)

I'm such a sucker for anything turquoise too...so I'm sure you all can only imagine how in love I am with my new pieces from Katie Dean too.

Back at the Beach

Here are some outfit photos taken while I was at the beach. I absolutely love this dress. It's perfect for dressing up or dressing down. I threw a vintage scarf with it while I was at the beach just for an extra layer against the cold winds.

Dear Creatures

 Dear Creatures is a brand that I have had my eye on for quite some time now. I've always been drawn to the polished, retro feel of the designs and how their lookbooks always look like they were taken decades ago. A few weeks ago, I got really excited when I saw that a local boutique carried Dear Creatures! I'd never seen their pieces in person, but they were just as adorable as I had imagined.

 All of the patterns and cuts of the items are super feminine and unique. If you haven't checked out Dear Creatures yet, I highly recommend it!
