An Open Book

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here the last couple days. I have been taking full advantage of it by grabbing some coffee, a book, and sitting in the sun :) I almost forgot how much I love being outside! I've also just discovered a coffee shop nearby that I love...I'm already pretty much a regular!
I just wanted to ask you guys if you have any suggestions when it comes to a great book! I want to start reading more, so what are some of your favorite books? I would love your input!
Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. I really love coffee+reading, but I prefer it in my lounge chair.
As for favorite books, I really loved 'One Day' by David Nicholls and 'The Hunger Games' trilogy.(2 totally different kinds of reading!)

  2. Coffee is always a good idea in the afternoon :)
Hummm, Lolita, The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Bell Jar are some of the best reads I ever had! Also, Novel with Cocaine by M. Ageyev, and so on... Goodreads is a good helper! xx

  5. Try 'The Passion' by Jeanette Winterson - it's kind of surreal but it's so insanely good. I can't even explain how much you should read it haha. Coffee looks cute! I'm so jealous of the weather you're having, it's -2 here in London :( x

  6. If you'd like to suprise your surroundings by sudden outbursts of laughter I highly recommend Jonas Jonasson's The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out Of The Window And Disappeared. Fantastic set of protagonists and great sense of humour.

  7. I am very jealous of the lovely sunny weather that you have! I'd say for books, it depends on what mood I'm in. I agree that The Hunger Games is a good trilogy but I was slightly disappointed with the last book. However I recommend anything by John Green, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower too. I've recently just finished The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plaith which was quite good, and I'm going to read The Help now. I've heard some good reviews, but we shall see!

  12. A person cannot go through life without reading Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice.' I've seen the film adaptation of 'Emma' (with Gwyneth Paltrow), but P&P is the only novel of hers that I've read, and it is definitely one of my favorites! If you can handle a slow pace, and a novel focused on character development rather than plot, you'll love it! :)

  14. My favorite author is Sarah Dessen. Personal top 1 favorite from her is The Truth about Forever. Such a good book! Otherwise Perks of Being a Wallflower, Percy Jackson series and the legendary Harry Potter series. If you like poetry/prose I suggest Ellen Hopkins as long as you are okay with trigger subjects.

Good luck in finding the books you'll adore. They are out there. :)
