Heart Shaped Box

(Long Sleeve: Forever 21, Dress: Thrifted, Hat: Gift, Boots: c/o Grannys Bootery)

The 90s were totally my inspiration for this look...if you couldn't tell. I have been wanting to wear my dresses even when it's a little cold...so why not take the inspiration and wear long sleeves underneath them? I love the girly grunge looks that came from the 90s, they are all so inspiring. I guess it's the 90s child in me coming out ;) Grannys Bootery was kind enough to send me these grunge like cowboy boots with my purchase! I have never really worn cowboy boots but I love the simplicity of these and the rounded toe...my favorite for boots :) I think I will definitely get some good use out of these.
Well my week is very busy again with school. I only have two weeks left of this semester! Woot!!
And of course a happy welcome to my new followers!! You all make my day :D
And if you have time, please vote for my essay to help me win a $5,000 scholarship!

Oh I Wish I Lived By the Sea..

(Scarf: UO, Cardigan: Thrifted, Top: TJ Maxx, Belt: Thrifted, Pants: Volcom, Shoes: Vintage)
All of my life I have always wanted to live by the ocean. Every year I visit the coast, but it's never enough for me. The smells, the food, the vibes...everything about the sea is so wonderful. This outfit reminded me of nautical things like knits and stripes. Maybe it's just me...;) I guess it figures to be dreaming of the sea around winter time!
This cardigan is one of my thrift finds I picked up on black friday...and I am so in love with it! It's so comfy and I love the baggy fit to it..perfect to snuggle up in :) I also pulled out my skinny jeans the other day and thought I would try them out again. Apart from my leather skinnies, flares have been what I wear lately so I figured it was time to switch it up. I think my good ole vintage boots look great with them too!
Still time to stay inside, the wind has still been so crazy...beside the sea...I'm actually starting to miss the snow :( Also just like I said, I added some new items to my Etsy store! Including some killer Doc Martens. I was so bummed when I tried to squeeze them on my feet and realized they would never fit me. But I know they will make someone very happy. Check it out!

Love Me Two Times

(Hat: Collection Eighteen, Top: Vintage, Pants: Hudson)

I have finally got myself a floppy hat :) The perfect new accessory for winter and a bad hair day (like today) This is my favorite shirt ever too, for those of you who don't know already. I love the funky design and the color of the flowers is my favorite ever. Just a simple look today to show off my new hat!
More items to be posted on The Moptop Vintage etsy store tomorrow, hopefully. :)

Inspirational Update

I've been inspired by so many effortless looks, things put together so easily, and cool color combinations. I think it's fun to pair different colors together in the winter time. Especially with the sun hiding away more, we need to have more fun with colors!

I'm sorry about the lack of post the past few days. Things have been so hectic and with Thanksgiving and the preperation, I really had no extra time. But I promise an outfit post tomorrow :) I hope you guys all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, those who celebrated. And a great couple of last days in general! :)

I Feel the Wind Blow

(Cardigan: Thrifted, Dress & Scarf: Forever21, Boots: Vintage from Grannys Bootery, Socks: Organic from Great Northwest Clothing)
As you can see from the last photo, I felt like this title was appropriate for this post. It's a short lyric from the Beatles song Dig A Pony from the Let It Be album....my favorite album ever. The weather has been so crazy here. It's all wind and rain :( Not cold enough for snow yet, which is at least a lot prettier to look at. At least I am able to wear my dresses, as long as I pile up the layers on top. I just got myself this lovely knitted scarf yesterday from Forever21. I have been needing a brown one and I like how it goes with my boots well.
I'm happy to be on vacation from school for the rest of the week. Time to cuddle up inside and stay away from the cold as much as possible! And a special welcome to my new followers! 600 of you all total...so crazy :D Thanks for all the amazing support from you all!!

Chestnut Brown Canary, Ruby Throated Sparrow

(Wolf Sweater: Thrifted, Cords: Bella Dahl, Shoes: Thrifted, Record: Crosby Stills & Nash-So Far, vintage tea cup)

Just like I said in the previous post, this week is time for me to relax. Though I have school Monday and Tuesday, I still have lot's of time to snuggle up with a cup of tea and listen to some soothing music on vinyl of course. A sweater and my cords are the ideal outfit to relax in. My ex found this jewel of a sweater when we were out thrifting a couple of weeks ago. I was so happy it was my size, because I love wolves! So so so perfect for me :)
The title of this post comes from a lyric in Suite: Judy Blue Eyes that's on my vinyl in the photo. Crosby, Stills, and Nash are such an amazing group that started in the late 60s. If you haven't listened to them, I definitely recommend doing so :)

Boylike

(Dress: Free People, Boots: Vintage from Grannys Bootery, Bag: Vintage)
Sorry for the somewhat grainy photos in the first few. I tried to retake a few but they all didn't turn out well, so instead you get a little bit of variety :)
I finally found myself some boots! :D And I'm completely in love with them. I want to wear them with everything and I haven't really taken them off much since I got them except to sleep. Hahaha crazy, I know. I should be introducing you to the lovely shop I got these boots from soon, so stay posted!
Free People is my favorite clothing store ever, if you guys don't know already. This dress is Free People and was a gift last year; I'm still loving it so much!
My week of hell is over finally. I have been so busy with school and it's been a little stressful. The semester is almost over though and I really am looking forward to it. I will be spending this next Thanksgiving week relaxing and of course eating! ;)
Have a wonderful weekend all of you, and also stayed tuned for a giveaway coming up!!
