Sorry for the little break from posts! I was out of town for a couple of days. I've been staying pretty busy lately, and I start up school again in just a few days! I am also happy to announce that My hard work last semester paid off... I ended up getting a 3.9!! I am so excited to go back and finish out the year strong.
These photos were taken of me by my friend Emma (check out her blog here!) when she was in town. We found this really cool abandoned house, and I love the spooky feel of it. Definitely goes with the "Wednesday Addams-esque" dress.
Hope you all had a great weekend!

Checkered

(Top: G by Guess, Coat: Shop Priceless, Jeans: Urban Outfitters, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell)

A classic pair of black jeans, a printed blouse, and some cute oxfords is my ideal casual but still cute outfit. I've been wearing this checkered top from G by Guess so much lately. It's another one of those pieces that's great for transitioning from summer to fall. Portland is somewhat notorious for army colored jackets, and I can definitely see why. They match with literally everything! If you don't have one yet, I suggest getting one especially with fall and winter on their way.

Cozy in Plaid

(Dress: MinkPink, Shirt: Chicnova, Bag: The Leather Satchel Co., Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell)

I love layering plaid shirts under sweaters, and I also love a sweater dress! This dress is so comfortable but still cute...what more could you ask for? It's great for dressing up or just to wear for a quick outfit for school. The best part of all...it has pockets! ;)
Make sure and enter the JewelMint giveaway!

Far Away

(Dress: KooKooKachoo Vintage (For Sale!), Hat: Anthropologie, Shoes: Free People)

What could be better than a maxi dress as we get closer to the fall? Especially a floral maxi dress! Throwing on a maxi dress is such a fast and adorable way to dress. I like to be comfortable during work and school, but I still like to look put together at least. This hat has been on my head for the past couple weeks now, it goes with so many things in my closet!
This wonderful dress is for sale in my vintage shop too, make sure and check it out!

Wonderland

More beautiful photos taken by my lovely friend Emma of Smile Me Pretty.

A few weeks ago I read this post on the Free People Bldg 25 Blog about not wearing makeup. I don't know about you guys, but almost always I have to be wearing my usual makeup staples like cover up, eyeliner, and mascara. Especially since my skin is usually prone to acne, I feel more confident trying to cover it up. But the other day my foundation ran out, and being a college student with no extra money to spare, I had no other option then to go to work and go through the rest of the day with no makeup. To top it all off, I didn't do a single thing to my hair besides put a hat on. I was a little bit skeptical on how I would feel about myself throughout the day, especially since I work at a Free People store and I am always helping other girls find outfits...so I was scared of how they would look at me (sounds kind of dumb I know). Then I started to think, I would rather someone like me for who I really am, and see my true self. Trying to hide who I am, under lots of layers of makeup, is almost like putting myself in a disguise. No one talked to me differently that day or looked at me in a negative way and that made me feel so confident and empowered. I'm not going to lie, I do continue to wear my favorite makeup on a daily basis but I don't want it to be a catastrophe if I don't happen to have it. It felt nice though, having the whole day not having to worry if I have to touch up my makeup, or fix my hair.
I hope you guys take the challenge, and try to wear your natural face and hair for just a day and see how you feel! I'm trying little things to help with my confidence and self image, and this was just a baby step for me but I already learned a little something about myself.

Just some little thoughts for the day, I hope you all have a great weekend!

Stacks

(Dress: Sheinside)
I have been so excited to share the photos from the adventure I had with my friend Emma of Smile Me Pretty! Emma came to Portland a couple weeks ago and we had so much fun checking out the thrift stores, eating delicious food, and of course taking as many photos as possible. I wish she lived here! She always cracks me up, and we're always so goofy!
There are many more photos to come, and I can't wait to share the rest. This dress was perfect for lots of the photos we took. I'm obsessed with the collar detail.
In the meantime, check out Emma's blog, Smile Me Pretty! She's absolutely adorable!

SHOP MY VINTAGE!

Washed Out

(Coat: Priceless, Blouse: Chicnova, Shorts: Priceless, Tank: Anthropologie, Necklaces: Constance Anne)

I love being able to layer as fall starts to arrive. It's so fun to be able to mix and match prints and textures together. The last couple of days have felt a bit like summer still, so I was lucky enough to wear some shorts! Army jackets are such a staple piece, especially around the Portland area...and I am so glad to finally have one! I already know I will be wearing this a lot. I love the simple stud detailing too, it's just the perfect amount.
On Friday, my boyfriend and I saw "Washed Out" in concert and it was amazing!! Please check out their music if you haven't already...they're one of my new favorite bands!
